Residential burlgar arrested in San Luis Obispo

A burglar is arrested after walking into an unlocked San Luis Obispo home Sunday morning.

San Luis Obispo Police received a call from a woman claiming an unknown man was inside her home on the 900 block of Lawrence around 4:00 a.m. The woman said she screamed when the man started walking up the stairs towards her location. The man ran from the home through an unlocked front door.

Officers located the suspect later identified as 35-year old Dennise Hickey from San Luis Obispo close by the home. Hickey was arrested for residential burglary, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and violating his parole terms.

The Police would like to remind everyone to lock their doors and windows, especially during the late night and early morning hours.
