Flames from burning SUV ignites nearby brush in Santa Ynez

Firefighters worked quickly Monday afternoon to put out a fire that broke out near the Chumash reservation land in Santa Ynez.

At about 3:50 p.m. an SUV in the 100 block of Kalawa Shaq Road caught fire and flames spread to the nearby brush, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni.

The fire was contained to a 30-by-30-foot spot. No one was injured and crews will be staying on scene until all hot spots are completely out.

The cause of the SUV fire is under investigation.
