Old Spanish Days welcomes Consulate General of Spain to Fiesta

Old Spanish Days welcomed the Consulate General of Spain Francisco Javier Vallaure de Acha to Santa Barbara and Fiesta Friday morning.

“This is a stunning city, and it reminds me of Spain every day I come to this city. And please keep these kinds of traditions,” said Ambassador Vallaure. “For good or for bad, we were here. We were here for a long time and we did many good things…and you’re a good representation of those good things.”

The red carpet was rolled and a special recognition given from 2018 Old Spanish Days La Presidente Denise Sanford and Santa Barbara Mayor Cathy Murillo to Ambassador Vallaure before Friday’s Historical Parade.

The event was held at Plaza del Mar next to Pershing Park.
