Man accused of attempted sexual assault at knife point is arrested

A 40-year-old Arroyo Grande man is accused of an attempted sexual assault in San Luis Obispo.

Arthur Tiofilo Rocha was arrested Wednesday after authorities say they connected him to evidence from an attempted sexual assault on July 13th, 2018.

The original crime took place in the 1500 block of Osos Street.

Rocha is accused of breaking into a home and trying to sexually assault the victim, she and her roommate managed to escape, according to police.

San Luis Obispo Police now believe Rocha is involved in a sexual assault that took place on July 8th, 2018 on Los Palos.

In that case, the suspect broke into the home and assaulted a victim at knifepoint.

Right now Rocha is facing several charges: Assault with a deadly weapon, Burglary, Criminal Threats, and Assault with the intent to rape.

His bail has been set at one million dollars.
