La Fiesta Pequea serves as official opening to Old Spanish Days

Fathers at the Old Mission Santa Barbara channeled the Three Amigos as they emceed La Fiesta Pequeña alongside NewsChannel 3 anchor Beth Farnsworth.

Father Larry called everyone a blessing.

The audience enjoyed the Old Spanish Days event broadcast live. The opening program was meant to highlight the history of the event that started on the mission steps in 1927.

Dancers performed traditional numbers in new costumes designed with this week in mind.

The show wrapped up with solos by the Spirit and Junior Spirit of Fiesta.

The dancers will be performing for three more nights at the Courthouse Sunken Garden.
