KEYT’s John Palminteri, 3 other local media legends receive first ever Old Spanish Days Legacy Award

For the first time, Old Spanish Days presented its first Media Legacy Award to four iconic individuals involved in TV, radio and print media, which included KEYT’s John Palminteri.

“I don’t do what I do without TV Hill,” said John after a few words of appreciation towards his fellow award recipients. “They get it out to you, I help to get it out to you. The media is so happy to get this great message of Old Spanish Days, the history of Fiesta and Santa Barbara culture, out to the public.”

The 2018 Old Spanish Days Fiesta Media Legacy Award was given to individuals for their many years of dedication and hard work covering many aspects of Fiesta.

Other recipients of the award included: Jose Fierros from Radio Bronco, a Spanish-language radio station in Santa Barbara, Barney Brantingham from the Santa Barbara Independent, and Craig Case from the “Inn Crowd.”

The award was presented during the August 1st Fiesta Opening Ceremony and ribbon cutting at Mercado De La Guerra.
