Rising water levels at Lake Cachuma attracting visitors looking to escape heat wave

Water levels at Lake Cachuma are finally on the rise and some lake-goers are happy they visited to freshen up.

Robert Easley was visiting from Los Angeles and noticed a big improvement from his last trip two years ago when the lake’s water levels were low.

“They had dropped 10 feet and because of that, there was no water coming to the park. The bathrooms were shut up, there were no showers for the first couple of days…it was pretty bad. So it’s pretty good right now,” said Eastley.

Meanwhile, other visitors from as far as China like Jackie Zhang and his family dropped by to enjoy the weather. Zhang says they’re not bothered by the high temperatures

“The temperature is no problem for us, ’cause we have traveled all over the world. India, Africa, Europe…so it’s very hot there, also very, very hot.”

Lake levels are currently at almost 40 percent.
