Coming to Goleta: Target makes it official

It’s official! Target announced Monday that it will be opening a new 117,000-square-foot store in Goleta in 2019.

The new Target store will be located at 6865 Hollister Avenue, the current home of Kmart, which is slated to close in October 2018.

The store will feature Target’s next-generation store design, and will be the company’s second store in south Santa Barbara County, joining the planned Santa Barbara Galleria small-format store.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Target and welcome a Target store to the City of Goleta. Bringing a well-loved brand with a terrific shopping experience will be a great addition to the Goleta community,” said Will Tipton, managing director, Merlone Geier Partners.

Target signed a lease with Merlone Geier Partners for the Goleta store location. It will offer a product assortment that guests expect from Target, including apparel and accessories, kids’ and baby care products, toys and sporting goods, fresh grocery, home decor and furniture, health and beauty and other departments.

This store will also offer ‘Order Pickup’ with the ability to buy online and pick up in store. The store will also employ more than 200 workers.
