Santa Barbara Wine Tour Van Stolen out of Santa Ynez Valley

A Santa Barbara Wine Tour van was stolen out of Santa Ynez Valley Saturday afternoon. The owners of the tour say the will offer a free wine tour for two for anyone that has a good lead on finding the van.

According to an employee at Standing Sun Wines in Buellton, the van had just dropped off a group of wine enthusiasts around 4:00 p.m. when the van was stolen.

“I guess someone helped themselves to the van while the tour was going on,” said the employee.

The van is described as a grey 2015 Mercedes Sprinter with “WINE TR1” on the license plate. The van has a tall roof with a white air conditioner on top. The van has “Santa Barbara Classic Wine Tours” written on the side with a website and phone number.

Sherene Donoghue with the Santa Barbara Wine Tour says the van was possibly sighted on Alamo Pintado in Solvang around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Donoghue confirms that the driver had stepped away from the van to go to the restroom and left the keys in the car. She says wine bottles and jackets were left in the stolen van.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of the stolen van.

Donoghue says she is willing to offer a free wine tour for 2 for anyone who has a good lead on finding the missing van.
