Fatal traffic collision involving a pedestrian in Oxnard

Police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that happened on Friday night in Oxnard.

Oxnard Police responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at Oxnard Boulevard south of Robert Grant Avenue around 9:25 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that a 67-year old woman from Santa Paula resident was traveling northbound on Oxnard Blvd. in a 2005 white Chevrolet 2500 pick up truck when she hit a female 32-year old pedestrian who was crossing Oxnard Blvd south of Robert Ave.

Police say the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center. The pedestrian later died at the hospital from the injuries she sustained from the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to the Police. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were involved.

Oxnard Police are investigating this collision.
