Crews battle vegetation fire near Lake Nacimiento
Crews are responded to a vegetation fire that has burned 25 acres on Chimney Rock Road. The area has heavy fuel for the fire and down power lines are making access difficult for firefighters.
Crews responded to the Rock Fire at 1410 Chimney Rock Road around 2:58 p.m. with about 2 acres of vegetation burning.
When the fire spread to 15 acres around 3:28 p.m., the Incident Commander ordered additional fire crews.
At 4:51 p.m., the fire spread to 25 acres and is reported to be 20% contained. Fire officials say they have made good progress but heavy fuels and down power lines are making access difficult.
