Ventura police nab Ben & Jerry’s bandit

Police in Ventura have arrested a man suspected of robbing a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.

According to the Ventura Police Department, 35-year-old Scott Russell, a vagrant of Ventura, entered the store on the 500 block of Main Street just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Russell demanded money from the clerk while claiming to be armed. The clerk gave Russell money who then ran off. Officers quickly arrived on scene, chased Russell down and arrested him.

Russell was booked into the Ventura County Jail on robbery charges.
