2018 Miss California Mid-State Fair crowned

A sixth generation native of a local cattle ranching family has been crowned the 2018 Miss California Mid-State Fair.

Twenty-year-old Ashley Davis was born and raised in Paso Robles and currently attends Cal Poly. Davis is currently a member of Cal Poly’ Young Cattleman’s Committee and has volunteered for SLO County Special Olympics, Paso Robles Children’s Museum, Paso Robles Harvest Marathon, and the Salvation Army

Her platform “Food, Fiber, and Fitness” is aimed at children with special needs, and includes educational presentations, handouts and fun fitness demonstrations.

First runner-up and Miss Congeniality went to 18-year-old Kimberly White of Oceano. Second runner-up was 19-year-old Codie Wilshusen of San Miguel.

The 2018 California Mid-State Fair opens Tuesday at noon and runs through July 29th.

This year’s theme is “Ole, It’s Fiesta Time!”
