UC Berkeley conducts evacuation survey that could help Santa Barbara County

UC Berkeley is conducting a survey to better understand evacuations and Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management wants you to take the survey.

Doctoral student Stephen Wong from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley says the study will analyze how individuals make decisions after receiving a mandatory or recommended evacuation order.

Wong says the questions will include demographic information about you, your household, your address, your choices you made during the evacuation, and the use of sharing economy platforms. Economy platforms are technology platforms that allow the sharing of goods such as transportation and housing, says Wong.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes.
