Fourth person involved in violent Santa Maria crash dies from injuries

Santa Maria police confirmed to KCOY 12 that a fourth person involved in Saturday’s crash at Stowell and Blosser has died.
The driver of the Toyota pickup truck died a few hours after the crash at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Authorities have identified the decedents as:
Leonicelle Abaigar, 47 years old, of Texas A teenage girl, 13 years old, of Texas Necitas Santa Maria, 52 years old, of Washington Jesse Angel Plata Jr. 27 years old, of Arroyo Grande.

Santa Maria police are investigating a deadly crash that occurred at about 11:19 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Stowell Road and Blosser Road.
Authorities say a Santa Maria police officer saw a white Toyota pickup truck driving recklessly westbound on Stowell Road from the JC Penney parking lot. Shortly after, the officer reported the vehicle collision.
The driver of the pickup crashed into a Cadillac Escalade. Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the collision.
The driver of the pickup was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital while one of the occupants of the Cadillac were taken to Marian Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
Three other occupants riding in the Cadillac were pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
SMPD says the intersection will remain closed until the on-scene investigation is completed. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes while the Santa Maria Police Department Traffic Unit conducts a thorough investigation.
