Missing Oxnard girl found safe and returned to her home

UPDATE

Oxnard police say 11-year-old Monica Nieves was found safely in the early morning hours of July 6, 2018.

Nieves was located unharmed and reunited with her family. She had been reported missing by her parents since July 1, 2018.

“The investigation revealed that her disappearance was an intentional act and foul play was not involved,” said a news release from the ​​​​​​Oxnard Police Department.

Oxnard police are asking the public to help locate a missing girl.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, 11-year-old Monica Nieves walked away from the 500 block of North Roosevelt Avenue around 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Her parents reported her missing later that night.
