Fourth of July kicks off with fun runs and parade in Channel Islands Harbor
Some people got up early on the Fourth of July to participate in 5 and 10 k runs.
The runs in the Channel Islands Harbor benefited local high school cross country athletes and activities in the harbor.
After the run people lined the road to watch one of the smallest holiday parades around.
Some people joke that if you blink you will miss the Channel Islands Parade.
Firetrucks, antique cars, decorated golf carts, and bicycles passed by children sitting along the curb.
Many of the people stayed in the harbor area all day to watch the patriotic boat parade and fireworks set off at the nearby Navy base after dark.
