Alleged drug dealers from San Francisco arrested in Carpinteria
Two alleged drug dealers were arrested in Carpinteria just before midnight on May 29 after Sheriff’s deputies received reports of a “domestic disturbance” at the AMPM convenience store on Casitas Pass Road.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says responding deputies found 34-year-old Deshawn McDougal and 25-year-old Iryna Melnyk in or nearby a silver Lexus and eventually searched the vehicle as part of their investigation.
During the search, deputies found:
A loaded Glock 40 cal. handgun with a threaded barrel A high capacity magazine A black case containing approximately 24 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly) packaged in gram baggies 5.13 oz of cocaine packaged in 1 gram and 3.5 gram baggies And more than $12,000 dollars in cash.
Narcotics detectives say McDougal and Melnyk, both from San Francisco, were actively involved in the sales of controlled substances.
McDougal and Melnyk were arrested and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail for:
24500(c)(6)PC- Possession of a concealed firearm not registered 32310 PC- Possession of a high capacity magazine 30515(4)(A)PC- Possession of a semiautomatic pistol with a threaded barrel 11370.1 HS- Possession of a controlled substance while armed 11351 HS-Possession of a controlled substance for sales (Cocaine) 11378 HS- Possession of a controlled substance for sales (MDMA) 11379 HS- Transportation of a controlled substance.
Both suspects are each being held on $200,000 bail.
