Santa Maria Breakfast Rotary holds annual Barn Party Luau

The Santa Maria Breakfast Rotary celebrated their biggest event of the year on Saturday: the Barn Party Luau.

Hundreds of people joined in on the fun for a traditional Hawaiian Barbecue. A silent auction was also held. Event organizers said the funds raised will go back to different Santa Maria non-profit organizations, and some international organizations.

“G lobally we are involved in the Guatemala project,” said Michael Buhring, Santa Maria Breakfast Rotary incoming president. “At this function we have about 450 people.”

Buhring said the annual Luau usually raises $60,000 to $80,000 a night.
