Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory issued for parts of Santa Barbara County
The National Weather Service has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Santa Barbara County until 7:15 p.m.
No evacuations are needed.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Moderate to heavy showers with isolated thunderstorms across portions of central and eastern Santa Barbara County are likely, according to the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management. These storms have a history of producing brief heavy downpours, with local rates of .20 inches in a 15-minute period, or .30 inches in a 30-minute period.
There is a potential for minor debris flows in the Whitter, Thomas, and Alamo Fire burn areas, according to county officials.
Some locations that could experience flooding include Figueroa Mountain, Lake Cachuma, Whittier Fire burn area, Thomas Fire burn area, and Alamo Fire burn area.
