Early morning earthquakes recorded near Channel Islands

Three earthquakes reportedly struck near the Channel Islands early Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 4:22 a.m. five miles west of the southern tip of San Clemente Island. A second earthquake was recorded with a 3.5 magnitude more than four miles from San Clemente Island at 4:53 a.m. Then a third earthquake with a 3.3 magnitude was recorded at 5:53 a.m. about 7 and a half miles from San Clemente Island.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
