Terminally ill dog finds foster home
A terminally ill pit bull mix has found a foster home Sunday afternoon.
Jade, a seven-year-old dog, was discovered to have Hemangiosarcoma, a rapidly growing, highly invasive type cancer which wrapped itself around her heart. Veterinarians say she only has a few days maybe a week left to live.
The Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center (SPARC) posted a picture of Jade on social media to help find her an emergency, short-term foster home. Within a couple hours a woman from Canyon Country came into the shelter to foster Jade.
“Oh my god, this dog is perfect,” said the woman wanting to foster Jade.
Stephen Raab, a SPARC worker said both Jade and the woman were grinning from ear to ear when they met each other.
SPARC says Jade is just one of many animals at the rescue center that needs fostering.
The Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center is a nonprofit organization and is the first and only no-kill animal shelter in Ventura County.
