Free rocks and cobblestones from Montecito mudslide available to residents

The County of Santa Barbara is making rocks and cobblestones from the Montecito mudslide on Jan. 9 available to all residents who want them for free.

The rocks and cobblestones may be used for landscaping or other purposes. They are about 18-inches in size, according to county officials.

There are two locations where residents can go to claim their free cobblestones and rocks:

Montecito Debris Basin at the intersection of Olive Mill Road and Hot Springs Road. West of the County Maintenance Yard across from the Santa Barbara County Fire Headquarters at 4408 Cathedral Oaks Road.

The debris materials are free for pickup while supplies last.
