DP overcomes early mistakes to beat Santa Barbara

Dos Pueblos was down 13-3 early in the second quarter after Santa Barbara scored touchdowns on a fumble recovery and an interception return.

But the Chargers cleaned up most of their mistakes from there and went on to beat the Dons 31-19 to clinch at least a share of the Channel League title. DP can win the championship outright with a victory this Friday against 1-8 San Marcos.

Jake Ramirez’ 35 yard touchdown run gave the Chargers the lead at 17-13 in the second quarter as the Chargers went on to notch their eighth straight win after opening the season with their only loss.

Santa Barbara can lock up second place and an automatic playoff berth with a victory Thursday against Buena at Santa Barbara City College.
