Authorities release identities of two killed in Goleta murder-suicide

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has released the identities of the two women killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Goleta Tuesday morning.

The homicide victim is Christina Marie Martin, 57, of Tampa Bay, Florida. Her suspected killer, who later took her own life, has been identified as Beth Michelle Curnow, 42, of Goleta.

According to a press release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the two were long-time acquaintances with ties to Florida. The victim was at the residence often.

Sheriff’s deputies located the bodies of the two women early Tuesday morning after receiving a report of an injured woman who was in need of medical aid. When they arrived they found Martin, dead in the residence.

Curnow was located in the garage, dead from an apparent suicide.

An investigation is underway but no additional details have been released at this time.
