Eight people detained in Oxnard drug sting
Eight people are under arrest in Oxnard after a drug sting that lasted several months.
On May 11, 2017, officers with the Oxnard Police Department served a search warrant at a home in the 600 block of Palm Drive. That’s where police would take eight men and women into custody on various drug offenses.
Oxnard Police detectives along with the Neighborhood Policing Team worked together for several months. Police said numerous drug-related arrests of people leaving the home and people in and out of the home until all hours of the night led to the investigation. They also said that there was an “alarming” amount of known Oxnard criminal street gang members and associates seen visiting the home.
Oxnard Police SWAT, K-9, NPT, and narcotics investigators conducted the raid. Two of the eight suspects arrested had active warrants and all eight were suspected of being on drugs at the time of their apprehension.
The names of the detained suspects are as follows:
Jose Aguayo, 58-year-old Oxnard resident Monica Ramirez, 28-year-old Oxnard resident Jordan Thayer, 31-year-old Oxnard resident Jesus Morones, 32-year-old Oxnard resident Cynthia Rizalla, 47-year-old Oxnard resident Gerardo Rocha, 43-year-old Oxnard resident Breanna Flores, 22-year-old Oxnard resident Leonel Barrera, 22-year-old Oxnard resident
Police said Jose Aguayo was the person in control of the home and was booked for operating a drug house.
