CSU Channel Islands celebrates Erika Beck’s first year at the helm

Ecko the Dolphin almost stole the show at the Investiture ceremony for Dr. Erika Beck.

The California State University Channel Islands’ mascot gave her a bouquet and a warm hug following her speech.

The ceremony, in front of the library, serves as a celebration of Beck’s first year at the helm.

Cal State Chancellor Timothy White gave Beck a special medal to mark the occassion.

Beck talked about her late mother and how she inspired her to enjoy learning and seek higher education.

CI will hold its graduation ceremony on May 20.
