Another launch from Vandenberg lights up night sky

Vandenberg Air Force Base successfully launched another missile test overnight.

The unarmed Minuteman III rocket shot off at 12:02 a.m. lighting up the night sky before foggy weather had a chance to move in.

These test launches verify the accuracy and reliability of the intercontinental ballistic missile weapon system, providing valuable data to ensure a continued safe, secure and effective nuclear deterrent. Air Force officials say the missile traveled approximately 4,200 miles to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
