Santa Barbara Fair & Expo comes to town

The Santa Barbara Fair & Expo doesn’t open until Wednesday, but special guests enjoyed a preview on Tuesday night.

Kids and reporters flocked to the Pole Position roller coaster.

Fairgoers have two Ferris Wheels to choose from.

Games line the midway with giant stuffed animals prizes that include unicorns.

Fried food offering include Oreos, candy bars and peaches.

Visitors are encouraged to wear saddle shoes and poodle skirts, or jeans, leather jackets and white t-shirts.

Those outfits fit the 2017 Back to the 50’s theme.

There will even be a Sock Hop on Friday night.

Doors open at 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

So as they used to say in the 1950’s “Be there are be square.”
