Juvenile gang member with loaded pistol arrested by Oxnard police

The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit arrested a juvenile gang member late Friday evening in Oxnard.

At around 10:45 p.m. officers located a 15-year-old male gang member hiding behind a parked car in the area of Berkshire Place and Justin Way.

Police say the boy was in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

He was arrested without incident and could face charges for several firearm related violations.

The boy was lodged into juvenile hall.

The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit aims to reduce gang related activity and violent crime in the city of Oxnard.

Residents are reminded to contact police when they observe suspicious activity or are witnesses to a crime.
