Wish Night 2017 recognizes Meredith Garofalo and KEYT NewsChannel 3

Wish Night 2017 raised thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish foundation that grants the wishes of children battling life-threatening illnesses in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Former Bachelor star Andrew Firestone, who is happily married now, wore his pink-lined wedding suit to serve as Master of Ceremonies at the Westlake Hyatt in Ventura County on Friday night.

The event honored Meredith Garofalo and KEYT NewsChannel 3 as Community Partner of The Year.

Garofalo helped raise 2,500,000 airline miles for Wishes in Flight.

The non-profit also honored Francisco Bracho, M.D., with the Ventura County Medical Center, as the Healthcare Professional of the Year. The pediatric oncologist refers patients to Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties.

The Board Appreciation Award went to John MacFadyen who helped launch Wish Night 8 years ago.

Firestone also helped auction off items donated by Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean and others.

Garofalo helped Firestone auction off a weather helper spot for $2000.

Donors watched a Caps Media video of local children enjoying wishes allowing them to go places, meet people, try new things or give back.

Make-A-Wish’s new CEO Pattie Mullins introduced a Wish Kid named Jovie Jane Konanz who gladly explaining how she wished to meet the Christian rock band Rend Collective.

Konanz got a round of applause when she said how much fun she had when the band’s drummer asked her to get up on stage.
