Lompoc Restaurant Week serves up big win for businesses

Floriano’s is sizzling with excitement after Lompoc Restaurant Week has brought in dozens of new customers.

New customer Ricky Zepeda says he found out about the week long promotion through Instagram.

“I think it’s cool that the community is coming together to celebrate local businesses rather than the franchises and the big chain restaurants that we have here,” Zepeda says.

Manager Antonio Rodriguez says they participated in Lompoc Restaurant Week last year, but this time around they’ve seen a much better turn out.

“We’ve had people come in telling us this is our third time going out this week, saying: “We’ve gone out Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday we’re hitting seven different restaurants as part of it.” So that just helps, it’s good to hear that they’re spending their money here in town instead of going out,” Rodriguez explains.

Floriano’s has been open for almost two years now, but Rodriguez says keeping a business open in Lompoc is difficult, telling us: “It’s really hard to sustain it here, it’s unfortunately why you see so many businesses close but you know restaurant week definitely helps out.”

Each restaurant participating in Restaurant Week make their own special deals keeping all the prices- even three course meals at $20.17.

“Most of our deals are dine in so we definitely kinda see more people taking up tables which is always good that’s what we try to push,” says Rodriguez.

Which means more full tables of happy customers like Ricky Zepeda. “I like the authenticity of it.. I mean everyone that works here speaks spanish and they treat you like you’re a family member,” Zepeda says.
