Voluntary evacuation issued for residents in Camarillo Springs

A voluntary evacuation has been issued for residents living in Camarillo Springs Divisions A, B, C and D, from Friday, Feb. 17 at 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The voluntary evacuation order was issued in response to the strong storms expected Friday, into the weekend, and a Flash Flood Watch and Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service.

An emergency evacuation shelter has been set up at the Leisure Village Recreation Building located at 1200 Leisure Village Drive in the city of Camarillo. The shelter will be active Feb. 17 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Ventura County Office of Emergency Services.

Voluntary evacuation orders are issued when residents should begin preparing for a potential mandatory evacuation order should conditions change for the worst.
