Tornado Warning expires, Brings wild weather to Vandenberg/Lompoc area

A tornado warning for Vandenberg Village, Lompoc, Mission Hills and the Air Force Base has expired.

The National Weather Service issued the warning after radar showed a water spout just off shore and the storm was heading over land.

A tornado warning is rare for California and the warning lasted from 5:30 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Viewers calling our newsroom reported large hail, strong winds and heavy rain. Vandenberg Village resident Bonnie McClain even reporting her house rattling for 45 seconds, she believes it was a twister going by.

It has not been confirmed if the tornado ever materialized.
