Anti-Trump protesters march down streets of Santa Barbara
Traffic in the heart of Santa Barbara was blocked off as a large crowd took to the streets to protest newly-inaugurated President Donald Trump.
Protesters gathered at De La Guerra Plaza just before 5 p.m. Friday, and after a crying rally to unite against hate and discrimination, and a few speeches from organizers, they marched up State Street to Anapamu Street holding anti-Trump signs and chanting.
The Santa Barbara Police Department was on scene to provide traffic control and safety to observers and protestors.
At Anapamu Street, protesters gathered in a circle blocking the intersection for several minutes. The message of peace and love resonated with the group as more speeches were given. The hundreds of protesters that showed up then marched to the Santa Barbara County Administration building before marching down Anacapa Street, and again gathered at De La Guerra Plaza.
