Solvang residents ready to set Christmas trees on fire

Hundreds of families will watch Christmas trees burn in Solvang Friday night.

For the 29th year, the city of Solvang encouraged residents to bring their used Christmas trees to Old Mission Santa Ines.

The trees will be burned while supervised by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The tradition was started by firefighters who wanted to educate the public about how flammable Christmas trees are if people aren’t careful.
