Cachuma Lake set to get 4000 pounds of fish

Even though Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara County is 92 percent empty, fishing is still a popular activity and it only stands to get better.

On January 3, Santa Barbara County will be releasing 4000 pounds of trout into the lake.

Last month another 4000 pounds came in, as part of a scheduled effort to keep the lake’s fishing activities strong.

The county says the trout will range in size from half-pound “catchables” to 8 pound “trophies”.

The trout were brought in from Northern California.

The record trout catch at the lake was a 15 pounder.
