Alan Thicke dead at 69
Actor Alan Thicke has reportedly died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday afternoon, the actor’s publicist confirmed. He was 69 years old.
According to TMZ, the Carpinteria resident suffered a heart attack while he was playing hockey with his son, Carter, at a rink in Burbank. He was taken to a nearby hospital after having chest pains and vomiting. Thicke was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Thicke is mostly known for his role as TV’s favorite dad, Jason Seaver, in the 80’s sitcom “Growing Pains.” The Canadian-born actor had many cameos in recent years on various shows, such as “How I Met Your Mother” and the Netflix series “Fuller House.” He was also a frequent pitchman for ads on Sirius.
He recently visited our KKFX Fox 11 studio to discuss his work with ProCon.org, a non-profit organization that focuses on balanced perspective on controversial issues affecting the U.S.
He’s survived by his wife Tanya and three sons, Robin, Brennan and Carter.
