Tiny ballerinas bring holiday spirit to Downtown Santa Barbara

Dancers from Inspire Santa Barbara took center stage at Paseo Nuevo Shops in Downtown Santa Barbara on Friday night.

Their performance was the kick off to the holiday season in the shopping center. The tiny dancers practiced for their show for three months. The dancers ranged in age between 4 and 12 years old.

“I feel kind of nervous, but it makes me excited,” said 8-year-old Sidney Fisher.

The dancers performed excerpts from their Classical Holiday Medley Show as well as a scene from the Nutcracker starring 12-year-old Paige Butchers as Clara, the main character.

“I’ve been dancing since I was 2. It’s really fun and I get to express myself,” said Paige Butchers.

Their instructor, Sean Crawford, says the girls will perform again on Saturday at Paseo Nuevo.
