Roof collapses at Isla Vista apartment complex
No one was hurt when a 15-foot section of a roof at an Isla Vista apartment complex collapsed just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Three Santa Barbara County fire engines and a fire truck company were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving a report of a building collapse.
The roof collapsed over a center courtyard hallway on the third floor of the apartment building located at 6690 Abrego Road, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni.
No apartment units appeared to be damage, and no residents were displaced since the roof collapse occurred in an open common area, said Zaniboni.
The property manager and the Santa Barbara County Building Department have been notified.
No other details were immediately available.
