Gauchos take a knee for National Anthem, beat Northen Arizona in women’s basketball
Drew Edelman scored a career-high 20 points as UCSB beat Northern Arizona 60-51 to move to 2-2 on the year.
The Gauchos are 2-0 at home.
Like San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the majority of the women’s basketball team have been taking a knee during the National Anthem.
The National Anthem protest is supported by some fans but others have asked for a refund or are staying away from the game. The listed crowd for Sunday’s game was 631.
No other UCSB athletes have taken a knee during the National Anthem.
