DUI driver arrested after crashing vehicle into Santa Paula residence

A man was arrested late Thursday evening after crashing his vehicle into the garage of a residence in Santa Paula.

At around 10:55 p.m. officers responded to the 1700 block of Cherry Hill Road for a report of vehicle that had crashed into a residence.

Upon arrival, officers located the driver who reportedly smelled of alcohol.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation and arrested the driver, Micah Chapman, 31, of Santa Paula under suspicion of driving under the influence.

A witness contacted officers on scene and reported Chapman was driving erratically on Ojai Road prior to the crash.

Fire officials on scene determined the garage did not sustain any structural damage.

Chapman was transported to Ventura County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

No injuries occurred during the crash.
