Santa Barbara High School shows off state-of-the-art wrestling mat
Santa Barbara High School wrestling is undergoing an extreme makeover.
The Dons unveiled a brand new state-of-the-art wrestling mat that has brought smiles to the team. The stylish mat could be the coolest one at any high school in the country.
The wrestlers raised some of the money for it and actor and Santa Barbara High School parent Billy Baldwin contributed more than 15,000 to purchasing the mat. He has kids at the school but they do not wrestle, Baldwin is just a huge fan of the sport.
Adrian Macias is the head coach and he is rebuilding a program that was wrestling on ripped mats that were over 30 years old.
Close to 30 student-athletes have come out for the wrestling team.
