Arrests made in Ventura County SUV thefts

Two Oxnard men were taken into custody on Nov. 14 accused of four new Hyundai SUV’s from local storage lots.

Members of the California Highway Patrol’s Investigative Services Unit and Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force, along with the Oxnard Police Department, conducted two early morning search warrants in the City of Oxnard.

20-year-old Ray Fernandez and 29-year-old Luis Rodriguez were arrested during the search warrants, along with a third man identified as Jimmy Juarez who had two outstanding bail warrants.

Investigators say Fernandez and Rodriguez were involved in two police pursuits and a hit-and-run crash involving the stolen cars.

No further details were immediately known.
