Public’s help needed to locate missing at-risk woman

Local authorities need the public’s help to locate an at-risk elderly Solvang woman that’s been missing for 12 days.

83-year-old Marilyn Morgan was last seen on October 19 at 11 a.m. at the Atterdag Village of Solvang in the 600 block of Atterdag Road.

An employee at Atterdag Village contacted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office after Morgan failed to show up for lunch or dinner.

“Morgan is believed to be suicidal based on past behavior and a statement she made to a friend prior to leaving,” said Kelly Hoover, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Morgan is believed to have left Atterdag Village in her white, 4-door hatchback 2004 Saturn Vue, with a California license plate: 5ESJ690.

She is 5 feet 5 inches tall, about 200 pounds with short white hair. Morgan left without her cell phone and her purse.

Despite search efforts by law enforcement, neither Morgan or her vehicle have been located.

Anyone with information regarding this case, or sees Morgan or her vehicle, is asked to call the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office at 805-683-2724.
