Sheriff’s Office identifies body found near shooting range
UPDATE–The body of a woman found near the shooting range on E. Camino Cielo and Arroyo Burro Road on Saturday has been identified as 29-year-old Santa Barbara resident Sarah Hambarzumjan-Calhoun.
She was originally, and erroneously identified as being 30 years old.
A preliminary investigation by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says the woman’s death was an apparent suicide. An official cause and manner of death has not been released yet, pending toxicology and lab results.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of woman found Saturday morning near The Glass Factory shooting range near East Camino Cielo road and Arroyo Burro road.
The deceased woman was discovered at around 9:50 a.m. by a passerby who saw a body near the roadway and called Santa Barbara County dispatch.
Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies confirmed the subject was deceased. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the scene and trying to determine what caused the death.
The name of the woman has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released.
