Santa Barbara County Sheriff seizes 20 pounds of meth in drug sting
Two Goleta men were arrested on Thursday, September 20 after attempting to sell 20 pounds of meth to special investigators as part of a five-month long trafficking investigation.
Special investigators from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau, Santa Barbara Regional Crime Abatement Team and the California Department of Justice negotiated the purchase and delivery of the meth to a location within the city of Goleta.
Two men delivered the methamphetamine to the 5800 block of Calle Real and were arrested by investigators.
The men have been identified as Guillermo Rea, 27, and Victor Ruvalcaba-Romero, 36, both from Goleta.
Investigators seized more than 20 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $729,600.
Rea and Ruvalcaba-Romero were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail where they both could face charges of transportation and sales of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for sales.
