Ventura Marathon runners started bright and early on the morning of 911 and the 15th anniversary of September 11th did not go unnoticed.

Cliff Walker , a firefighters from Tustin, ran in his firefighter gear with an oxygen tank and flag on his back.

Other runners carried flags.

The Ventura Marathon is one of the final qualifiers for the Boston Marathon.
