Investigators Return To Origin Of Rey Fire
Investigators are not ready to say how the Rey fire began, but they have taped off an area where a tree fell on power lines in the White rock Day Use Camp of Paradise Road in the Los Padres National Forest.
Chris Newton of Branch Out Tree Care is familiar with the tree.
After looking at photos of the fallen tree Newton said it appears wood decay was caused by oak root rot that thrives in warm weather.
It may not be visible when a tree is standing, but the broken trunk of this tree shows signs of rot.
He said trees, especially large old trees need attention.
