Day Qualifies for Main Draw at US Open
Start spreading the news, Santa Barbara’s Kayla Day is headed to New York to play in the main draw at the U.S. Open.
The 16-year old tennis star won the USTA 18 National Hard Court Championships in San Diego on Sunday with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 victory over Nicole Frankel. The win automatically qualifies Day for the main U.S. Open tournament which begins later this month.
Day is the top ranked American Junior Girls player which is 18 and under.
